Back at the Field
Jun. 17th, 2009 08:53 amMali and I have been across to the Field off Ella Street these last few days, where he's had a good time running around and playing with the other dogs. I had shied away from frequenting the place because Mali was constantly stealing other dogs' toys and then playing keep-away... whilst everyone there's pretty good natured 'n stuff, it was getting a bit much.
So far, though, he's been pretty good. And as was mentioned on more than one occasion, people generally like having Mali there, because he performs a role for the rest of the pack.
Yes, Mali is Chase!Dog - the dog that the others chase. He's quite considerate about it, though - you can see him, as he runs, looking over his shoulder to make sure the rest of the pack can keep up, and adjusting his speed to suit.
The meadow section is full of long, long grass, and as Mali leads the pack hurtling through the stems, clouds of grass seed erupt in their wake. It's awesome.
