aome found a Harry Potter meme, and it's been a while since I've done one of these, so:

List the books in order from your favourite to your least favourite.
1. Chamber of Secrets
2. Goblet of Fire
3. Half-Blood Prince
4. Prisoner of Azkaban
5. Philosopher's Stone
6. Order of the Phoenix
7. Deathly Hallows

The reason that CoS is top is because it marked the transition point in the series, for me, from being just purely a kiddies' series to something with the potential to be much darker, it expanded the timeline and also estranged Harry (if only temporarily) from the wizarding world.

List the movies in order from your most to least favourite.
The movies I find hard to get enthusiastic about. Richard Harris was Dumbledore in a way that Michael Gambon can never hope to emulate. I loved the cinematography in Prisoner of Azkaban, and thought that Order of the Phoenix made a decent fist of a book that wasn't my favourite, but I haven't seen the films enough to really attempt to order them.

Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Lupin

5 least favourite characters?
Umbridge, Uncle Vernon, Dobby, Fleur, Percy

Favourite Unforgivable Curse?
Um? Imperio, I guess, since you can then make your victim do whatever you want...

Favourite mode of wizard transportation?
Apparation.

Favourite Weasley?
Probably Bill - the long hair, the curse-breaking, the style...

Favorite non-human Hogwarts resident?
I quite like Crookshanks...

Favourite couple?
Heh, like you can't guess! Harry/Parvati! It's so totally canon, GoF people, GoF! :D

Biggest surprise of the series?
I'm going to echo aome here and say Cat, Dog and Rat and the whole Barty Crouch playing Mad-Eye Moody. The first time I read both of those it was like... wow!

Biggest letdown of the series?
Books V and VII, I'm afraid. I still don't think I actually understand Book VII. I'm up to GoF in this year's re-read, and will attempt to take a little more time on DH this time around.

One character you wish lived?
Fred! :-(

Moment that will always make you cry?
Um... Lupin in PoA saying to Harry that there are horrors in his life that others haven't experienced.

Ron/Hermione or Harry/Hermione?
Ron/Hermione. I cannot, cannot, cannot see Harry/Hermione in a relationship, ever.

Which house would you want to be in?
Hufflepuff. They completely rock.

Would you ever enter the Triwizard Tournament?
Yes, although I somehow doubt that the Goblet of Fire would think much of my candidacy.

Do you think you would enjoy being a witch/wizard?
I think I'd be unhappy about the Prime Directive no-contact with Muggle side of things... (I could go on at length, here, and yes, obviously there is some kind of mixing, since otherwise we wouldn't get the mixed-bloods, but as evidence of how separate the two halves of the world are, you only have to note how appallingly bad the wizarding world is at 'blending in' with Muggles)

Heh - the Prime Directive is actually something Dean mentions in TTK in precisely this context, hence why that particular phrase was kicking around in my head :-)

(TTK Dean extends his continued love of Muggle culture as evidenced in canon (West Ham) to include, as any 15 year old London boy rightfully would, a love of films and TV. And so, throughout the fic, he tends to deploy mostly relevant quotes at crucial points - it confuses the Purebloods, which is a bonus).

TTK!Dean is in no-way an authorial self-insert. Honest. No, really. He's like completely different to me! I mean to say, as if I would support West Ham... :-P

Also, Luna's been something of a slow burn with me - I didn't like her introduction in OotP, and that put me off her for a long while, but I've definitely warmed to her these days, to the extent that I'm borderline Harry/Luna these days.
