glittertine found this fantastic Star Trek Parody (in 47 seconds) which is quite mind-blowingly awesome. I'm rather liking the parodies at the moment, so I thought I'd also share The Abridged Script™ for Twiglet, sorry, Twilight. The same site also has an eminently readable Quantum of Solace, and lots more (the quality of spoofing can go down as well as up, past amusement is no guarantee of future mirth).

Moving from spoofs to mash-ups, here's Han Solo, PI. I only dimly recall Magnum, so this side-by-side comparison twixt Magnum and Han Solo, PIs, respectively, proved helpful in illuminating the artistry involved.

Wired has a (very) short interview with Guillermo del Toro, in which the best part, for me, was the photo on p2 granting us mortals a glimpse of his lair: that is quite some entrance hall.

Another Wired article that caught my eye was this sequence of time-lapse videos of 'massive change' on Earth. The deforestation one was particularly alarming, to my eyes at least :-/

A little more frivolous is Scary Girl, a game with some neat artwork. Speaking of games, although perhaps one with slightly less artistic flair, The Guardian celebrates 25 years(!) of Tetris here. 25 Years! I still have my original GameBoy with the Tetris cartridge. Feels very old skool, these days, though (but nonetheless a brilliant game).

Gizmodo has an article on how a NASA intern stole moon rocks. Note that the subject of the interview has written a book on the heist which, in his words was based on truth, but it's embellished. So, as the article advises, take the tale for what it's worth.

anotherpenguin pointed me at this page of optical illusions. I'm really impressed by the 2D lines in a 3D environment installations - the work that must've gone into those... *boggles*

That's one brave mouse, stealing food from underneath a leopard's nose. From The Daily Telegraph's same set of Pictures of the day, this is a pretty enterprising (or lazy) crow. I rather like their Dragonfly Crop Circle, too - which reminds me to link to this article about how crop circles are making a comeback, at least, they are according to the Grauniad.

There's a Torygraph story about the discovery of a 12ft fossilized plesiosaur skeleton near Lyme Regis (Devon). What I find weird about the story is that they go on to say The marine reptile resembled the Loch Ness monster with its long thin neck and tail, four large flippers and razor-sharp teeth, which I find to be a remarkably weird statement, given that we have even less data on a supposed Loch Ness monster than we do on this plesiosaur...

And finally, I leave you with Extreme LED Sheep Art. Even though it's a viral for Samsung (who don't appear 'til the very end), cool is insufficient a word (more info here)...
