Three Day Weekend Approaching

Monday being a Bank Holiday, we have another three day weekend coming up ('cos May always gets two). So that is definitely for the good - I'm feeling pretty tired at the moment.

Sunday sees Hull City attempting to stay in the Premiership. If they win, they're safe. If they draw, and Newcastle don't win, they're safe. If they lose... at this point, we bring in Middlesbrough.

It is mathematically possible for Middlesbrough to escape the drop (even though they currently reside in 19th place), leapfrogging Hull in the process, or, if results go in another direction, it's not impossible that Sunderland will find themselves in that third relegation spot...

So what odds would you give that Hull will stay in the Premiership? Do you think they'll most likely be relegated? And more importantly, who will you be rooting for on Sunday?....

Aston Villa, obviously! (Aston Villa play Newcastle. It's unlikely that 'boro will beat West Ham, which means that as long as we at least match Newcastle's result, we're safe).

Can I root for Newcastle on the grounds that my favorite beer is brewed there?

For a looooooooooong while, Newcastle United were pretty much most people's 'second club', in that if their Team of Choice were not playing, they'd root for Newcastle. They've had a particularly disastrous season this year, though. Nonetheless, it'd be in keeping with the club's character if they managed to escape the drop this season, so you could end up having a celebratory drink yet!
