How did you do it, anyway?

By substituting HTML code for certain letters, based upon the information given at this Unicode charmap site. Note that it'll only work with browsers that support Unicode...

So, you take each letter, look it up in the left hand column and replace it with the text from the right hand column.

Obviously, you have to right-left your character sequence in the first place:

Yeah - although letters s, z, o and x aren't re-mapped, they don't quite line up either. I use pipe (|) for l, because it's another without an option.

It also works (mostly) on the Touch. Some of the alignment is a bit off, but still legible!

The alignment is much better on Firefox under Linux than it is in Firefox under Windows.

Which strikes me as odd, but there you go.

The iPod Touch is a highly covetous device, I'll have you know... I can't justify an iPhone to myself, but and iPod touch? That's a distinct possibility...

I'm *so* tempted to upgrade mine, even though my first gen is still functioning perfectly well. It's not that I don't love it, I'm just keen to get my hands on the extra functionality and memory! (16GB version doesn't exist in the latest gen I believe.)

Maybe next year....
