Castle Fox on a sunny November morning

Have the day off work today, as I'm on childcare duties, looking after P and W, one of his friends from school. This afternoon we're off to the cinema, this morning we've taken the dog for a walk (principally to acclimatise him to the New Person's presence, which seemed to work, mostly), and have tried to generate some enthusiasm within W for the Avenues Tree Sculptures (we have a new one in memory of Anthony Minghella, who used to live on Park), but I'm not sure I succeeded on that count.

Why are the boys off from school?

Hope you enjoy the day together. Of which movie will you be partaking?

'tis half term for them, so I had them for a day as Ex and W's mum were otherwise occupied, and they'd each had them for a day on Monday and Tuesday respectively.

The day wasn't bad - we went to see Cirque de Freak: The Vampire's Assistant which was... age appropriate, I guess. I've seen better, I've seen worse :-P

There's a new tree? What does it look like?

It's another Jacqui Lomax, but it's quite restrained - simply a piece of film (you know, with the perforated edges for the sprockets to grip, like in the good old days) scrolling down the trunk, the Tragedy and Comedy masks and Anthony Minghella's name, year of birth and year of death.

It's a few doors down from his house, and it's much more, imho, memorial than art. But it's pretty good, all the same.

Well, book is with Comradette K at the moment, and she's similarly afflicted as thee and me when it comes to the Sook, so I'm expecting that she'll get through it relatively quickly. At which point I will forward on to your good self with all due haste :-)
