Well, here we've had about 3" of standing snow on a couple of occasions. I know that they had much more down South (a friend texted me with reports of a foot of the stuff in her garden), and Scotland almost certainly would've had more in some places.
I would imagine so... except we're not quite as spectacular as your place :-)
Anyway, the point being that this is unusual for Blighty (as you probably can recall from your days here), and I am quite certain that you'd be rolling your eyes in despair when you saw how the entire transport infrastructure ground to a halt overnight the moment the first snow arrived ;-P
It snowed once in Kent while I was there and I found the reaction to the inch of snow hilarious. The campus library was closed due to the weather conditions and the kids were snowboarding.
