Chocolate for breakfast

Blech - am tired.
I'm trying to finish the edit of TTK - correcting the legions of typos and addressing the, uh, creative grammar, but I keep on finding myself reading on (despite having already read the thing, in full, just the other week).
In one sense, given that I wrote the thing, I s'pose it makes sense that I find it interesting to read. On the other hand, though, it does feel slightly narcissistic to read and re-read my own writing in such short order.
And, obviously, when I'm reading instead of proofing, it just delays actually reposting TTK:Reloaded somewhere.

Date: 2009-07-21 10:06 am (UTC)I feel the same way about some of the stuff that I've written: In some ways, "Did I really write this?!" And I do wonder if I could ever do as well again.
TTK was/is classic and, despite the odd typo, is compelling reading - something you can definitely be proud of. It's a good sign that even you keep getting drawn back into the story :-) Hope you do finish the proofing and repost it...

Date: 2009-07-21 12:46 pm (UTC)I cannot fathom how I managed to string some of the words and phrases together that I did, looking back, now. Were someone to ask me, now, to write a fic that long, that fast, I'd just say it couldn't be done.
So many untied threads, too. Sprout, for example. And Fleur. Pettigrew. I was going to make so much more of Tempus, and should've expanded upon Vellum a bit more. And possibly I should've upped the Harry/Parvati post battle...

Date: 2009-07-25 07:13 am (UTC)TTK's not being 're-imagined', just edited (which it sorely needed, just on the typos and grammar). CotS, on the other hand, will be all new fic...

Date: 2009-07-21 12:52 pm (UTC)That sounds a bit more active than I ever get!
I was a bit under the weather across the weekend - sore throat and stuff, generally feeling very lethargic, but am perking up a bit now (just in time for work)...
