Flash Forward

So, I watched the first episode of Flash Forward last night. Given my brain dead state, it seemed appropriate... just loved the shot of the Eiffel Tower in flames - gratuitous disaster, much??? :-P
I've only watched the one ep so far, and it does seem to be trying awfully hard, with a similar 'glossy' feel to that of Heroes. And the script, at times, just makes me want to curl up and die. However, I'm going to persist for a few more episodes to see what I make of it.
Anyway, for UKers, it's possible to catch up on FF via Channel 5's flash-based on-demand service, which has its own Flash Forward section.

Date: 2009-10-22 12:46 pm (UTC)I've seen episodes 1-3 but need to catch up on 4. I'm liking it so far but there's one thing bugging me... if everyone experienced the flashforward why during the time of the flashforward is no one expecting the events that happen in the flashforward to happen?

Excellent point - because they certainly know when the flash forward was depicting.
My suspicion? That there are multiple, divergent timelines, and that we'll get more flash forwards as the series progresses, each time showing a different future world as a consequence of choices people have made as a result of the previous flash forward.
Consequently, the first flash forward was a glimpse of an unanticipated future. The next flash forward would be a glimpse of a different future which was, possibly, inconsistent with the first. People would adjust accordingly, and perhaps would gradually come to believe that the future wasn't locked solid.
That'd be my guess...
