Have just ordered Prison Break S2 off the 'bay.

I bought S1 a while back, on a whim, and really liked it. However, I'd heard conflicting opinions on the later series, so had shelved the idea of following the story any further. But then I lent the DVDs to a work colleague, who got, erm, a little obsessed with the programme (or Wentworth Miller in particular), and she then rented S2, and has been telling me that it's definitely worth seeing. So, she'd better be right...

The other shows I've been following at Castle Fox are Heroes (I've got S1 and S2, but have to wait until October for S3 to come out on DVD) and Battlestar Galactica (Seasons 1-3 watched, I own Razor but haven't watched it yet, and am hoping that they'll release S4 as one box set, rather than the two halves it's currently in).

So. Prison Break, Heroes, Battlestar Galactica. What else is good?

I think you've got the best of the best there already - maybe a rewatch of Firefly is in order?

No, I haven't (yet) :-)

I like the new Doctor Who as well, but I somehow doubt you would. And others I know tend to be into Primeval, Merlin (which I don't see the attraction of) and CSI.

CA5 and UC were extolling the virtues of Boston Legal as well.

As you may have noticed...

In my professional opinion, Stargate Atlantis sucks royally in comparison to SG-1. But SG-1 is older and takes a few seasons to really get off the ground, IMO.

I seem to mainly watch series that are already canceled - Stargate, The X-Files, Buffy, Firefly and Farcsape at the moment

Atlantis had 5 and SG-1 had 10 - of which I love the 9th and 10th the most ;)

S9 and 10 has a semi-new cast and new enemies, so it's not completely necessary. At least I know people who watched it without watching the first eight seasons.

To supplement whatever you've found: it's a mystery series of sorts. One brother works for the FBI in Los Angeles, working to solve crimes. His younger brother is a math genius, teaching at a fake CalTech. He uses math to help his FBI brother solve the cases. Good show - we enjoy it. Just finished S5, so hopefully you could find the first four on DVD.

If you do decide to check it out: S1 starts off more violent and darker than the rest of the show ends up being. I mean, sure, they're solving often violent crimes, but when Will and I went back and viewed S1 on DVD, we were rather surprised at how the feel of it had apparently changed.

I'm currently a Doctor Who addict. And I'm also watching Supernatural, which has its good moments.

I've followed Heroes S3 this year since I get NBC here, and quite frankly it has hurt my eyes. Actually I would suggest stopping after S2, which is not as good as S1 but at least "watchable". Really, I'd advise avoiding season 3, unless you want a good excuse to use the expression "jump the shark" very often. :-D (of course I'm entirely subjective and easily disappointed in shows - I admire you for continuing watching Prison Break after S1. I personally had trouble getting to the end of the first season ^^; Then again, I can't stand the main actor and that mono-expression on his face)

... yeah, that's why I sort-of watched a part S3, because they changed the writers mid-season. Missed a few episodes of the first half which was just plain boring. The second half was better than the first, but they were already too far gone anyway (the first half was really, really bad. Some characters just change personalities, some are acting in incomprehensible ways...)

There was one episode in S3 that I really enjoyed. Out of... what, 25?

Oh, and prepare yourself to cry if you manage to reach the end of season 3, because the last 5 minutes or so are pathetic. Something happens that just screams really, really bad plot. I still can't believe they did it. If there is a season 4, I'm definitely not going to watch...

I ducked out of BSG quite early on in the game, but I know mR has been enjoying it immensely - to the point that he's rushing through his dinner to get to watch the last couple of minutes of the last episode!

The first three seasons of Boston Legal are excellent - mR and I are watching s.4 at the moment, and it's off the boil a little, but still OK watching.

Dexteris very good - or at least the first season is! I'm eying up the s.2 boxsets at the moment.

mR and I recently started watching Life, which we're enjoying and devouring quite speedily.

Also good is Chuck, which is starting to show s.2 on Virgin 1 (not that you need to know that!).

Another one I enjoy, possibly for all the wrong reasons, is Bones. And then there's always the very very wrong Family Guy!

I think you would enjoy Chuck, perhaps Dexter and maybes House. Also maybe Re:Genesis would appeal to your geeky side.
